Sino-Japanese Forum on Titanium Non-Aero Applications and Markets
As titanium and titanium alloys have excellent properties, such as corrosion and high-temperature resistance, low density, high strength and good biocompatibility etc, they are more and more widely used in metallurgy, chemical industry, ocean exploitation, sports & leisure, health & care and other non-aero fields. With the development of titanium industry in China, applications of titanium in metallurgy and chemical industry have made significant progress and accumulated more experience. In recent years, great efforts have been made in Japan on new application technologies and market expansion of titanium, attracting the whole world's attention.
However, since the world financial crisis that started at the end of 2008, the world's titanium industry has suffered from great impact; titanium market nearly becomes idle and remains at the bottom. As the world's two major countries with titanium industry, Japan and China's titanium market have many similarities, cooperation and exchange have also been well maintained between titanium associations of the two countries.
Considering that the 12th World Conference on Titanium will gather large numbers of international renowned titanium experts in Beijing in June 2011, proposed by Prof. Lian Zhou, Chairman of the 12th World Conference on Titanium, China Titanium Association and the Japan Titanium Society decide to take this opportunity to jointly organize Sino-Japanese High-Level Forum on Non-Aero Titanium Applications and markets, so as to further promote the applications and markets of titanium in non-aerospace industries, exchange experiences in the development of application technologies, explore potential market opportunities, and further apply the innovative mechanisms to the marketing of titanium.
This forum will provide a platform for technicians and entrepreneurs in the non-aero titanium alloys technologies and applications fields to make extensive exchanges on common issues of concern, especially the future development trend of application technologies and markets of titanium alloys and in the non-aero industries.
